How can these losses be prevented?
The majority of cooking fires start when no one is around. There are two types of fire prevention devices that do not require a person to activate them:

Cooking Fire Prevention Devices: These devices fight fires before they have a chance to start.
Cooking Fire Reactive Devices:These devices extinguish a fire once it has already started, with the goal of stopping its spread and reducing the potential damage.

PHLY has developed a Residential Cooking Fire Prevention guide that explains cooking fire risks and prevention options. We encourage you to review and share this information to help prevent future loss from cooking fires.
